Bitcoin invented by the NSA? Here is their Whitepaper!

To start right ahead: Yes, the NSA was researching on something like Bitcoin + the NSA has invented crucial technologies used in Bitcoin and yes, here is their Whitepaper…learn what this all about:

The 1996 NSA Whitepaper

In their 1996 white paper

“HOW TO MAKE A MINT: THE CRYPTOGRAPHY OF ANONYMOUS ELECTRONIC CASH” (NSA 1996)

In their NSA-Whitepaper they comprehended the state of the art in decentralized P2P-E cash. So it is not a Whitepaper like the Bitcoin Whitepaper.

To understand why the 1990´s saw a huge boom in internet currencies read: Where there cryptocurrencies before Bitcoin?

Who is Tatsuaki Okamoto?

The NSA White paper is mostly based on the work of David Chaum (the inventor of DigiCash) and Tatsuaki Okamoto

Keep calm:

“amoto” is a widely distributed Name ending in Japan. It is like the “er” in German-American Names or the “ez” in Hispanic Names.

3 things which the NSA or DARPA actually invented

The NSA and other government agencies like the DARPA are researching on Cryptography and anonymous communication, because it is their job. This is why this research led to most big inventions in today’s communication:

yes it is true:

  1. The Internet (yes, the Internet-Protocol was developed by the DARPA)
  2. Onion Routing (aka Tor aka the Darknet officially sponsored by DARPA)
  3. and of course a bunch of cryptographic standards like SHA-2 (also used in Bitcoin)

Vitalik Buterin suspected the NSA – now his opinion has changed

“Does this mean…”

No, it only means that they release their invention before some one else (another government) comes with their solution, probably with a backdoor.

Better have no back-doors than a backdoor for China or Russia (this is probably how they think)

This is probably why even Vitalik Buterin was aware of the possibility.

Vitalik Buterin on the possibility that Bitcoin is an NSA invention

Buterins opinion seems to have changed since then. Probably because of his positive experience with smart guys like Nick Szabo.

THE CIA Narrative – what Nakamoto means in Japanese

You might have heard, that the Name “Satoshi Nakamoto” can be translated with Satoshi= central and Nakamoto = wise or intelligence –> central intelligence (CI)

Im not Japanese, but it seems as if translation of names is not that easy since they are made of multiple parts (kanjis).

Another possibility is “wise man”.

A good read on the Japanese meaning: (Satoshi Nakamoto: A comprehensive translation of an enigma)

The real Satoshi? Not him!

Investigative evidence shows that Satoshi Nakamoto is named after a real person called Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto. Dorian Nakamoto lived very close to Hal Finney. Finney is the earliest developer and adopter of Bitcoin. Dorian Nakamoto was an elderly man who has lost his house due to the banking crisis in 2007-2008. Some people think, that the name was a tribute to all people who have lost their homes. The reason for the wave of poverty is seen in the flawed central banking system. Finney collaborated very close with Nakamoto, he received the first transaction. Unfortunately Finney past away in 2014.

2014 was the time when Nakamoto disappeared, this is why people think Hal Finney was Satoshi Nakamoto. If so RIP. I think it is not important WHO Nakamoto was. If it is Nakamotos wish to stay anonymous (which is rational), than one should respect it. The myth is also important for Bitcoin the “brand”.

However if one wants to understand Bitcoin one should know the intention behind bitcoin

Bitcoin developer visited the CIA

The CIA-narrative got fueled on April 27th 2011. This is when one of the early head developers (Gavin Andresen) announced on Bitcointalk.org, that he will visit the CIA-headquarter to give a lecture about Bitcoin.

“I want to get this out in the open because it is the kind of thing that will generate conspiracy theories:  I’m going to give a presentation about Bitcoin at CIA headquarters in June at an emerging technologies conference for the US intelligence community.

I accepted the invitation to speak because the fact that I was invited means Bitcoin is already on their radar, and I think it might be a good chance to talk about why I think Bitcoin will make the world a better place.” (Gavin Andresen 2011 on Bitcointalk.org)

If the CIA has written the Bitcoin Whitepaper and invented Bitcoin why would they need a lecture 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♂️.

You know what?

Even if you invent something in cryptography – this does not mean that you can control it.

Let me know your thoughts! Are you suspicious, even a suspect you self? Srs is it worth the investigation?
